Sarah Ellen is a multifaceted counselor with a diverse educational and professional background. She was active duty in the United States Air Force and still continues to serve in the reserve component as an Aerospace Medical Technician/Immunization Technician. Sarah earned an Associates in Allied Health Science from Air University in addition to her EMT Licensure. Shortly after transferring to the USAF-Reserves, Sarah received her Bachelor’s degree from University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a major in elementary education and minor in Psychology. After teaching in the Onslow County School System in North Carolina, she went on to obtain a Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. Sarah completed her counseling internship working in Child Protective Services in Investigations and Assessments and also at a large Neuropsychiatric Center on the East Coast. Once Sarah graduated, she worked as a Counseling Resident in a private practice that focused on children, adolescence, and young adults. Sarah has had experience working with at risk youth, children of divorce, depression/anxiety, domestic violence, substance abuse, self-esteem issues, military family concerns, sexual abuse, parenting skills, and PTSD. She utilizes a variety of techniques to include, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Play/Draw therapy, and Integrative therapy. Sarah has certifications for CPR/BLS instructor, Sexual Assault Prevention and Response, Hearing Conservation, Emergency Medical Technician, Stress and Trauma Care with Military Application, and a K-6 Teaching License.
