As an expressive medium, art can be used to help clients communicate difficult feelings, overcome stress, and explore different aspects of their personalities. Through conversation and art activities, clients learn how to express and process thoughts and feelings. The goal is not to make masterpieces, but to find a way to express emotions that cannot easily be put into words. Art therapy is not just about expression, but also for calming and regaining wholeness. You don’t need to be artistic to enjoy art therapy!
Bright Horizons is fortunate to have a wonderful board-certified art therapist, Kandra Orr, as a part of our clinical team. For more information, please see Kandra’s bio under the Our Team tab.
